Bradwell's centre is located about four miles from the centre of Gt Yarmouth, on the south side of the River Yare. It is a large village of some 14,000 residents which has seen a great deal of housing development over the past 30-40 years, and it includes much of the Gapton Hall Industrial Estate. However, there is still a substantial amount of farmland in the village, and also the small hamlet of Hobland.
This website is designed to enable Bradwell's parishioners to find out what is going on in their village, and to provide information to anyone with an interest in the area. Bradwell Parish Council has responsibility for a number of amenities within the village, and will make representations to the Borough Council, County Council, Police and others to secure improvements to services within the village.
Its base is the Leo Coles Pavilion, located on the Green Lane Playing Field site. Its meetings take place there, and the clerk's office is situated there. Meetings of the council take place on certain months of the year, normally on the second Tuesday of the month at 7.30p.m. presently September, December, February, April (3rd Tuesday), May (annual meeting) and July.
Its committees, sub-committees and groups meet at other times, normally on other Tuesday evenings. Watch the noticeboards (outside Bradwell Post Office, Beccles Road; junction of Mill Lane/Willow Avenue; Rainbow Superstore community information board; inside Mill Lane Centre; inside Bradwell Community Library) for details of forthcoming meetings and other community information.
The council publishes a twice-yearly newspaper, "The Bradwellian", which is delivered to every household in Bradwell (over 4,400!) by our team of volunteers. This website is designed to complement the information provided within The Bradwellian with regular updates.
